About Eric Skagerberg

Eric's pictureI earned my degree in Management and Data Processing from Sonoma State University, and I have decades of experience in computer services. I’m skilled in PC, Mac, and mobile environments.

As an adjunct instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College for more than 25 years, I’ve taught students in such varied and changing technical areas as Windows and Windows command line, Linux, IT essentials and support, computer security, and other technical courses for students seeking certification. In recent years, I have served as a trainer in the Bay Area Community College Consortium’s cybersecurity summer boot camps for high school students. I co-authored the textbook New Perspectives on Microsoft Windows Command Line.

I serve business clients who do not require in-house IT capability but want an experienced professional who is competent, creative, accessible and trustworthy. Clients can specify the level of interaction they prefer:

  • “Training Mode” – I train an onsite employee in regular maintenance and follow-up
  • “Observation Mode” – I provide running commentary as an onsite employee “looks over my shoulder”
  • “Fast Fix Mode” – I work as quickly as possible to fix problems, perform maintenance, and install software and upgrades

For my less technically oriented residential clients, I can communicate complex procedures clearly and simply. For those clients who do not want to take classes, I can provide individual training and specific instruction in client-directed areas.
