Follow the directions to set up your web directory folder on the Student server.

Using a Secure Shell" remote command line program, log in to the Student server with your user name as password.
- Can't connect? Instead of student.santarosa.edu, try busstudent.santarosa.edu instead.

You should see the following display. Type the text shown in red boldface. ( username displays as your actual user account name, such as "jsmith"):

## student.santarosa.edu
#######################################################
## Check http://www.santarosa.edu/compserv/news/
## for current system status information.
#######################################################
[username@student username]$ sudo wwwme
   Begin working ....

Your web directory has been created.
   It is /home/WWW_pages/username

There is a symbolic link to it in your home directory:
   /home/user/username/public_html

You can 'cd' there now and begin adding your html files.

You can see your pages using the URL below:
   http://student.santarosa.edu/~username

Have fun!

[username@student username]$ exit

Note the URL listed above: http://student.santarosa.edu/~username -- where username is your actual user account name, such as "http://student.santarosa.edu/~jsmith".
