Creating a Simple Web Page

In "My Documents", make folder "web".
Copy pictures to "web".
Use a program that will make a web page, such as:
Microsoft Word
Writer (in
LibreOffice
,
OpenOffice
and
NeoOffice)
KompoZer
Start a new document
Write a name for one of the pictures
Drag the mouse across the name to select it
Activate the function to make a web link
Enter the name of the picture file
Repeat for other pictures
Save your document as a web page file, called "index.html", in your "web" folder
Use your secure file transfer program (e.g.
WinSCP
,
Fugu
,
Mindterm
) to upload your "web" folder to your Student server web space
View your web page at (substitute
username
with your real user name):
http://student.santarosa.edu/~
username
/web/
