Student Data Disks

• To put Student Data Disk files on removable media:
  1. Prepare your target media:
     • For diskette, flash drive, zip drive, or any other pre-formatted FAT file system volume, just insert the media.
     • For CD-R or CD-RW, insert the disk and then format it with Roxio DirectCD, Nero InCD, Sonic or IBM DLA (Drive Letter Access), or another UDF packet writing program.
     • Warning: On a CD-RW, performing a "Full Format" (vs. "Quick Format") can take up to three hours,depending on the speed of the drive and the size of your media.
  2. Note the drive letter of your target media (e.g., A, D, E, F, etc.)
  3. Enter your CATE user name and password to download a self-extracting data disk program file below to your Desktop.
     • disk1.exe (for Tutorial chapters 1 through 4)
     • disk2.exe (for Tutorial chapters 5 and 6)
     • disk3.exe (For Tutorial chapters 8 and 10)
  4. Show the Desktop, or minimize all windows, so you can see the file icon.
  5. Click or double-click the file icon to launch the program..
  6. When prompted, enter the drive letter you noted above.
  7. At the next prompt, you may optionally enter a subdirectory name if you wish (no spaces in the name); otherwise just hit Enter to unpack the files to the root directory.
